BOOK REVIEW: 'Legend' | Marie Lu

Legend paper back international cover

They live in different worlds.

I love the creation of Marie Lu's Legend. This trilogy is my second favorite and sometimes it does become on the same level as Veronica Roth's Divergent.
It is really beautiful, full of action. It is another reason for my love in writing with the eX Dream/2018 series with all the action and mystery. And the conflicted feelings and love.

Fifteen year old Republic's little prodigy, June Iparis' first mission is to hunt and chase the notorious criminal Day. Being born from the elite family, June was considered as the youngest graduate student of Drake University that eventually lose her only family remaining, Captain Metias that was said to be killed by Day. She asked for revenge and she is to hunt him down in every aspect and streets of the Republic for him.
Their impossible worlds collide as the two was brought on the loop of an ever run. From different worlds, June and day have no reason to cross paths. Until June's brother is murdered, and Day becomes the prime suspect.
In a shocking turn of events, the two uncover what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths to which their country will go to keep its secrets.

CHARACTER: 10 out of 10
A perfect 10! I am also a fan of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. I love the creation of Day and June's characters. They were two different poles brought together by fate. And I love the way they feel so vulnerable but yet still strong enough.

PLOT: 9 out of 10
The plot changes or shifts very fast and readers were left unspoken because they can't feel most of the feelings and events if the scenes changes all of a sudden. Especially with Metias' death then it shifts too fast to the hunting already and then changing plans. But either way, I still love the story.

SETTING AND THEME: 10 out of 10
To make this short, I love the setting and theme if it has to do with sci-fic, dystopian worlds and also altered future. I love the theme and setting of Legend because it is unique on it's own.
